Fred Rieffel was born on 23rd November 1967, and lives and works in Strasbourg.
An independent designer since 1997, he works on design projects for furniture and objets for a range of renowned French manufacturers, and also for Habitat and Pianca, Italy. His field of activity also covers spaces (médiathèque de Sarreguemines, 2007), objects (the vase Phlox for the CIAV/ Observeur du design, 2005) or contract work (ARFA, SIF).
His works have been shown at the Salone Satellite, Milan (part of the Salone di Mobile) in 1999 and 2001, and he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions (Louvre, Beaubourg, Milan, VIA, etc).
He has been awarded several 'labels VIA' between 1999 and 2007; two of his creations form part of the permanent collection of the FNAC; and he was three times nominated in the Young & Design competition, Milan.
He has lectured at the école des arts décoratifs, Strasbourg since 2007.
