Jean Nouvel often says that he is an architect who designs. In 1995 he founded JND (Jean Nouvel Design) to run alongside his AJN architectural agency, undertaking interior architecture and design projects. Most Jean Nouvel pieces of furniture are created along with his architecture, with the aim of creating coherent environments. JND has developed ranges of objects and furniture, amongst which the Less collections for Unifor, a range of lighting for Troll, the Grand Ecart table for Pallucco, the Hook screen for Methis; and with Ligne Roset, is now reissuing his Saint-James and Simple Bridge seating and launching the Simplissimo collection.
In terms of interior architecture JND most notably designed the H&M store in the Champs Elysées in 2010, along with the Sofitel Uniqa Vienna and, in 2009, undertook the scenography for Dolce & Gabbana's 'Extreme Beauty' exhibition.
