Jörg Höltje was born in 1981 in East Berlin. He started his studies of Industrial Design at the University of the Arts in Berlin in 2003. He founded the design studio Hausen together with Joscha Brose during their Industrial Design studies at the University of Arts in Berlin in 2006. Before Höltje graduated in 2009 he complemented his education with studying abroad, at the Politecnico di Milano. Jörg Höltje also completed successfully a period of work experience at Studio Patricia Urquiola in Milan. In Berlin he was working for designers like Werner Aisslinger and Axel Kufus. Since his first independent project at the UdK Berlin, he exhibited alone and with Studio Hausen at the Salone Satellite in Milan 2007, 2008 and 2010, his work has been shown in numerous international exhibitions, like IMM Cologne, DMY International Design festival Berlin, Seoul Design Festival in Korea and at the ICFF New York. Since then he has worked for a variety of clients such as Ligne Roset, De la Espada, Camper and Foundry. His main focus lies in furniture and lighting design as well as exhibition design and installations. His work is driven by hands on prototyping, manufacturing and inspired by cultural development and innovation. He is combing cutting-edge technologies, experimental production methods, traditional craft and new materials.
